Daily Rituals

At my weekly networking breakfast we each have the opportunity to speak about what our companies do. However, since I have been meeting with this group for about two years I thought today I would speak about “how I do” instead. I shared one of my favorite business books, The Compound Effect, by Darren Hardy. One of the key takeaways for me, also obvious in the title, is to create systems and ways of doing things on a ritualistic basis so that they compound over time. This whole concept in itself I need to practice more since I am definitely a “feelings” type of person and let my feelings often guide my actions in place of a routine or schedule. Since reading this book. however, and listening to the podcast, Darren Daily on Demand each morning, I have gained a deeper understanding of the benefits of ritual. I have implemented this thinking of doing something, “on the reg” as my kids would say, in areas of my life with success. For example posting on a schedule on LinkedIn. Now I’m not saying I never fail or skip and if I do I don’t count it as a fail but as a chance to do better. Though I still have many areas of life that I need to improve. What daily rituals do you use in life and business that have help you get to the next level?
